Schumer thanks retiring GOP Rep. Peter King—Dems lose it, demand he ‘be removed’

On Monday, after Rep. Peter “Pete” King (R-NY) announced that he will not run for re-election, King was met with many well wishes for his years of service in the U.S House of Representatives by Republicans and Democrats alike, as King was a moderate member, who fluctuated on issues with his party, such as gun control.

Democrat Senate Minority Leader Charles “Chuck” Schumer wished King well in a tweet, saying “Peter King stood head & shoulders above everyone else. He’s been principled & never let others push him away from his principles.”

Schumer went on to say, “He’s fiercely loved America, Long Island, and his Irish heritage and left a lasting mark on all 3. I will miss him in Congress & value his friendship.”

Despite the rare view of bipartisanship, Schumer was met with brutal criticism by Democrats, one going as far as to say Schumer “MUST be removed.”

Freshman Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) claimed Rep, King is an “Islamophobe who held McCarthyite hearings targeting American Muslims, said ‘there are too many mosques in this country’ and blamed Eric Garner for his own death at the hands of police.”

Omar, who has uttered a slew of anti-Semitic attacks during her time in Congress, and said that the tragedy of 9/11 was “some people did something,” is referencing King holding hearings in 2011 that focused on the radicalization of Muslims in the United States, NOT targeting all Muslims, as Omar would like people to believe.

So, it appears Schumer is now on the chopping block for merely wishing a colleague well, as the Left further recedes to its extremes and further alienates voters.
