First Couple make history by attending NYC Veterans Day parade

On Monday, President Trump and First Lady Melania attended the 100th New York City Veterans Day Parade, making President Trump the first sitting president to attend such an event.

President Trump thanked our veterans, saying “This nation is forever in your debt and we thank you all,” and telling 9/11 families that “we pledge to never forget.”

Trump also honored the U.S. Marine Corps for their 244th birthday yesterday, saying, “244 years, that’s pretty good,” in a candid moment.

First Lady wore a black military coat with golden buttons and President Trump wore a light blue tie and back overcoat at the outdoor event.

Earlier today, President Trump sent out Veterans Day greetings on Twitter, writing in all caps, “HAPPY VETERANS DAY!”

Later today, Vice President Mike Pence will lay a wreath and speak at the annual Veterans Day observance at Arlington National Cemetery.
