Actor and comedian Russell Brand has expressed bewilderment over why Americans who cherish freedom would choose Joe Biden over 45th President Trump in the upcoming election.
In a preview of his podcast “Stay Free with Russell Brand,” Brand discusses his thoughts with RNC spokeswoman Elizabeth Pipko, stating, “In a straight choice between Donald Trump and Joe Biden, if you care about democracy, if you care about freedom, I don’t know how you could do anything other than vote for Donald Trump.”
Brand criticizes the current administration for its portrayal of Trump supporters and alleges that there is significant “snobbery” among liberals towards Trump supporters. He asserts that the Biden administration has been emulating Trump’s policies while simultaneously criminalizing him through what he describes as the “weaponization of the legal system.”
Brand argues that a greater threat to democracy is the “technological feudalism” that claims to protect vulnerable people but instead increases censorship and division among Americans. He emphasizes the importance of voting for Trump to preserve democracy and freedom, suggesting that the current administration’s actions are a larger threat than Trump himself.
Brand’s comments come amid a backdrop of his support for independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and his critique of the liberal establishment for being co-opted by financial and military interests. Brand, who has recently turned to Christianity, also reflects on the increasing interest in faith as societal values and institutions deteriorate.
