U.S. Supreme Court reaches decision on CO’s attempt to boot Trump from ballot

The U.S. Supreme Court delivered a unanimous verdict on Monday, clearing the way for 45th President Donald Trump to appear on state ballots, despite allegations of his involvement in insurrection. This ruling came in response to a previous decision by Colorado’s high court to remove Trump from the state’s GOP primary ballot.

The Supreme Court emphasized that states lack the authority to enforce the Constitution’s insurrection clause concerning federal offices, particularly the presidency, stating, “States have no power under the Constitution to enforce Section 3 with respect to federal offices, especially the Presidency.”

The justices further elaborated on the potential chaos that could arise from states independently deciding presidential ballot eligibility, highlighting the risk of disrupting election outcomes and the votes of millions. Trump celebrated the decision as a “Big win for America!!!”

While all justices concurred on Colorado’s error, the Democratic appointees on the court and Justice Amy Coney Barrett expressed reservations about the broader implications of the ruling. The court’s swift handling of the case underscores its significance, ensuring Trump’s name remained on the ballot for Colorado’s GOP primary amidst ongoing legal battles.

The ruling effectively dismisses the possibility of future federal court challenges based on the insurrection clause, given the lack of a current law by Congress to enforce it.

This landmark decision reinforces the principle that such determinations fall within the purview of Congress, not individual states, setting a precedent for how similar cases might be handled in the future.

  1. Glad to see a loud mouth, self serving NO MORALS lawyers and a corrupt judge get their a$$ handed to them!! These self serving a$$wipes don’t need to tell people who they can or cannot vote for!

  2. We will see more of these attempts by the radical left as we move forward — signifying the absolute importance of the Supreme Court. If it goes left – our country as we know it is gone.
