Biden makes strange and surprising comments about border bill

Joe Biden has pledged to “shut down the border” should he be granted “emergency authority” by Congress through a bipartisan immigration agreement. This authority, Biden argues, is crucial for addressing the continuous influx of migrants in recent years.

In a statement released on a Friday and later shared across social media platforms, Biden described the proposed border security measures, linked to a contentious Ukraine aid package, as the most robust and equitable border reforms the nation has ever contemplated. “The border has been dysfunctional for too long,” Biden remarked, emphasizing the urgency of rectifying the situation.

During a White House event, Biden highlighted the significance of the negotiated agreement, stating, “If passed into law, it would be the most stringent and just set of border reforms our country has seen. It would grant me, the president, new emergency powers to close the border under overwhelming circumstances. I would immediately utilize this authority upon signing the bill.”

Biden’s call to action includes a request for Congress to approve funding for Ukraine, proposed in October, which would also allocate resources for an additional 1,300 U.S. Border Patrol agents, 375 immigration judges, and 1,600 asylum officers. Additionally, the plan seeks to enhance border security with over 100 new inspection devices aimed at thwarting fentanyl smuggling, expand visa allocations by 250,000, and increase green card availability.

“This is the solution for those demanding stronger border control,” Biden stated. “If you’re genuinely concerned about the border crisis, pass a bipartisan bill, and I’ll sign it.”

The potential for legislative progress, however, faces challenges in the House of Representatives. House Speaker Mike Johnson has expressed skepticism about the bill’s viability, particularly concerning its ability to effectively address the surge in illegal immigration. In a letter to Senate colleagues, Johnson questioned the purpose of negotiating new laws with an administration he perceived as lax in enforcing existing immigration statutes.

Johnson has made it clear that House Republicans are unwilling to entertain any new policy proposals from the White House or Senate that might further encourage illegal immigration.

The debate over the bill and Biden’s proposed emergency powers has sparked significant discussion, with critics, including notable figures like Elon Musk, arguing that Biden already possesses sufficient authority to manage the border situation without new legislation.

Amidst these political discussions, border patrol agents in El Paso, Texas, have reported significant incidents of human smuggling, with the number of migrant encounters reaching unprecedented levels. According to Customs and Border Protection sources, migrant encounters surpassed 300,000 in the final month of 2023 alone, setting a new record for monthly encounters and highlighting the ongoing challenges at the U.S. southern border.

  1. That lying SOB just wants to send more money to Ukraine. These border provisions included in the bill are just meaningless words that mean nothing to him, and we’ll never see any of them implemented. If he thinks this will earn more votes for him, he is even more delusional that we all know.

  2. All Biden’s handlers want, because we know Joe has no idea what’s going on, to send money to a corrupt regime (Ukraine),ignore our ally (Israel) and keep the border open so to stack the voter roles with more illegal democrat voters
