Second state throws Trump off the ballot

Maine’s Secretary of State, Shenna Bellows, a Democrat, declared on Thursday that 45th President Trump is ineligible to be on the state’s primary ballot under the 14th Amendment. This decision follows a similar ruling by the Colorado Supreme Court last week, making Maine the second state to take such action.

Bellows stated that she concluded Trump’s actions, spanning several months and climaxing on January 6, 2021, involved a false narrative of election fraud to incite supporters, leading them to the Capitol to prevent the certification of the 2020 election and the peaceful transfer of power. She further contended that Trump was aware of the potential for violence and initially supported it by encouraging it with inflammatory rhetoric and taking no timely action to stop it.

In a 34-page decision, Bellows emphasized that Trump’s occasional calls for peace and support for law enforcement do not absolve his conduct. She asserted, “A brief call to obey the law does not erase conduct over the course of months, culminating in his speech on the Ellipse.”

This marks the first time a state official has removed a presidential candidate via the 14th Amendment, as a court made the Colorado decision.

Bellows acknowledged the gravity of her decision, stating, “I do not reach this conclusion lightly. Democracy is sacred.” She highlighted her commitment to upholding the Constitution and ensuring that candidates on the primary ballot are qualified for the office they seek.

The Trump campaign denounced the decision, describing Bellows as a “virulent leftist and a hyper-partisan Biden-supporting Democrat.” The campaign plans to appeal the ruling, arguing that it is an attempt to steal the election and disenfranchise American voters.

Despite previous demands from Trump’s attorneys for Bellows to recuse herself, she affirmed that the decision was based solely on the record before her and was not influenced by political affiliation or personal views about the events of January 6, 2021.

The joke’s on the Colorado Dems after booting Trump off ballot

  1. Our country is in deep trouble. It should be obvious to everyone that we have the dumbest and most ignorant political class this country has ever seen. This country was founded as a republic not a democracy and for good reason. Study what the founders said about democracy. We have allowed these idiots to take over nearly every state and for sure they have control of the federal government. The inmates are running the asylum!

  2. So a socialist aka democrat SOS is blocking Trump from the ballot so to have a “fair” election season, who gave these democrats the right to remove the leading Republican opponent from the other parties primary ballot on a charge DJT was NEVER charges OR convicted of????

  3. Another example of a self serving liberal lawyer thinking she is above the law and will make all the decisions so the peasants don’t have a voice to challenge her “authority”. She needs arrested and have a chance to sit in a cold ,dark jail cell to think about her behaviors!
