Far-left fringe Rep. Cori Bush (D-MO), a member of Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s (D-NY) socialist “squad,” is now demanding American taxpayers fork over at least $14 trillion in “reparations” payments to descendants of enslaved Africans.
“Bush says the resolution’s trillion dollar amount includes the value of cotton produced by Black people and the lack of repayment since slavery,” Yahoo News reports.
“We need to push this right now,” Bush said. “It’s 2023, and the U.S. federal government still has not acknowledged the atrocities that came at the hands of this government.”
Recently, Gov. Gavin Newsom (D-CA) did not take action on a proposal from the California nine-member reparations task force after it approved recommendations for each Black Californian to receive $1.2 million per person.
To put Bush’s idea into perspective, the national debt is currently at $31.46 trillion. The move by the Missouri Democrat would amount to almost half of all the current debt and would balloon it to nearly $46 trillion — amounts that the country would never pay off.
The squad is known for its unhinged and economically crippling policy ideas, such as the Green New Deal sponsored by Rep. Ocasi0-Cortez, which would cost up to $93 trillion. The socialist “Medicare for All” plan supported by the squad would cost an additional $400 billion annually.
While these socialist representatives propose spending hundreds of trillions of dollars on insane proposals, Americans are being irreparably harmed by Joe Biden’s economy.
Disgusting and completely unnecessary for people of today to be paid millions of dollars or ANYTHING because they MAY have had ancestors who were slaves.
