McConnell: ‘one symptom of Trump Derangement Syndrome is also a bad case of amnesia’

During a Friday floor speech from Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnel (R-KY), he spoke about the recent action by the Trump Administration to take out terrorist leader Qasem Soleimani, as well as the Democrats’ rush on impeachment, the first time he has taken to the Senate floor since Congress’ Christmas break.

“Look, Mr. President — I respect our friends across the aisle, but it appears that one symptom of Trump Derangement Syndrome is also a bad case of amnesia,” said the McConnell

“And no member of this body needs condescending lectures on ‘fairness,’ from House Democrats who just rushed through the most unfair impeachment in modern history. Or lectures of impartiality from senators who happily pre-judged the case of President Clinton and simply changed their standards to suit their political wins,” he continued.

Sen. Charles Schumer (D-NY), who serves as the Senate minority leader spoke afterward, trying to walk back the Democrats’ past comments on impeachment, as well as the Iranian conflict.
