A recently uncovered Huffington Post op-ed from 2011 is drawing new criticism, especially since the author is a big Pete Buttigieg supporter and apparently a big fat-shamer.
In the piece, Buttigieg donor Wendy Wanderman wrote, “Basically, people in the thinner and mostly bluer states are paying for the healthcare costs of all of the uninsured and Medicare covered individuals in these red state.”
The piece was called “Cash for Fatties,” trying to play off of the Obama-era “Cash for Clunkers” program.
According to the Washington Examiner, “Wanderman served on Obama’s National Finance Committee, and her name appeared on Buttigieg’s site along with a list of donors who contributed at least $25,000 to his campaign.”
Democrats have brutally gone after Buttigieg for his lavish fundraiser with Wall Street investors, leading some to brand him as “Wall Street Pete.” Earlier this month, a group of left-wing activists chased after the South Bend, IN mayor in New York City wearing cookware and “Where’s Waldo” attire.
