Islamist cleric linked to UK terrorist to have release from jail reviewed

According to the Daily Mail, hate preacher Anjem Choudary, who was released in October after he was jailed for five and a half years for inviting support for ISIS, has close ties to Usman Khan who killed two people during a London terrorist attack last week.

Choudary has previously defended other Islamic terrorists, in 2015 defending the Charlie Hebdo shooters while speaking with Fox News’ Sean Hannity.

Justice Secretary Robert Buckland has ordered a case-by-case review of Choudary, claiming any breaches of his release would result in an “immediate recall.” The Daily Mail says that Choudary claimed Khan was “innocent” after he was previously convicted for trying to blow up the London Stock Exchange.

A photograph emerged showing Choudary with his “disciple” Khan, and other photographs have been unearthed showing Khan laughing at 9/11 footage, and waving an Al-Qaeda flag. All the images can be viewed at the Daily Mail.

Khan attended Choudary’s “church,” and preached Islamic extremism on the streets of London on behalf of Choudary’s banned terror group al-Muhajiroun.

A former classmate of Khan wrote, “Look who it is – the guy who walked around school with a picture of Osama bin Laden on the front of his planner and used to sit in the corner of the cafe with 20 of his mates watching videos of the planes going into the Twin Towers.” He continued, explaining that Khan’s extremism was “brushed under the carpet” and “blatant red flags” were “ignored.”
