Joe Biden is now praising President Donald Trump’s opponents in the 2024 GOP primary, calling them “competent.”
He told the press Monday that “a lot of competent candidates” are running against Trump, adding, “I haven’t been able to keep up with it. It’s moving so quickly.”
“I’m not being facetious. I’m being very serious. I haven’t focused on it that much,” he added. “It seems like a lot of competent candidates are trying to get the nomination, so we’ll see.”
Biden weighed in just five days following the entrance of Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL), who President Trump endorsed for governor in both 2018 and 2022. In 2018, DeSantis was a longshot for the governorship.
Other candidates include Sen. Tim Scott (R-SC), former Gov. Asa Hutchinson (R-AR), businessman Vivek Ramaswamy, and former Gov. Nikki Haley (R-SC).
Trump is carrying a massive polling lead, with an average of 30.8 percent he is leading the other candidates, according to Real Clear Politics.
“I’m not being facetious. I’m being very serious.” He almost always says those two sentences…when he’s lying. Don’t believe me? Watch him sometime. You’ll see.
