On Monday, it was revealed in a news release that Fox News’ Tucker Carlson of the high-rated hit show Tucker Carlson Tonight is leaving the network.
It read, “FOX News Media and Tucker Carlson have agreed to part ways. We thank him for his service to the network as a host and prior to that as a contributor.”
“Mr. Carlson’s last program was Friday April 21st. Fox News Tonight will air live at 8 PM/ET starting this evening as an interim show helmed by rotating FOX News personalities until a new host is named.”
Last week, Fox News settled its lawsuit with Dominion for $787.5 million. It is immediately unclear if Carlson’s departure is related to the multi-million-dollar settlement.
Carlson ended his Fox News career with a staggering 2.99 million viewers of his Thursday night show, trouncing all other networks by millions. Fox News is likely to lose many viewers if Carlson is picked up by another network, and it is unclear who will fill his shoes with his abrupt departure.
Matt Walsh of the Daily Wire wrote following the split, “Wow. Disastrous moment for Fox News. Tucker was by far the most important and relevant figure at the network, and in all of cable news.”
The Fox Corp Class A and B stocks appeared to have lost around five percent following the news:
“An interim program, ‘Fox News Tonight,’ will air at 8 p.m. ET until a permanent replacement for Carlson is named. ‘Fox News Tonight’ will be hosted by a rotation of various Fox News personalities,” according to a Fox News report.

Fox was the one station we could watch without being angered and disgusted by the lies of MSM but it’s obvious they have gone over to the rotten left in politics and they will be losing a huge number of viewers. ….I am so disappointed. Weeknights – from 7:00 until 10:00, I looked forward to watching Fox News – always trusting them to be honest to deliver the news truthfully. All we have left is Jesse and Hannity. Are you going to get rid of them too????? You have cut your own throats, for whatever reason you dreamed up. Tucker Carlson always gave the news straightforward and truthfully. Are you now taking the d……rats side?? We have enough problems in our country without having the ruination of it by the damn d…rats! I agree with both of you, even though I loved watching Tucker and Hannity best. Guess I’ll be listening to Classic Country in the evenings now!
