Republican Youngkin crushes Biden-endorsed McAuliffe in new poll

According to a new poll released from Fox News, Republican Virginia gubernatorial candidate Glenn Youngkin is beating Joe Biden-endorsed candidate Terry McAuliffe in the race.

According to the New York Post:

The Fox News survey showed Youngkin leading McAuliffe by eight percentage points (53-45) among likely voters, with just 2 percent supporting other candidates or undecided.

That represents a dramatic turnaround from just two weeks ago, when the same poll showed McAuliffe with 51 percent support among likely voters, 46 percent supporting Youngkin and 3 percent undecided or supporting other candidates.

Youngkin also leads McAullife by a single percentage point (48-47) among all registered voters, a 12-point turnaround from two weeks earlier, when McAullife held a 52-41 advantage among registered voters.

Perhaps most stunningly, the poll shows 53 percent of likely Virginia voters were more likely to trust Youngkin on the issue of education, while just 44 percent said they were more likely to trust McAuliffe.

The race has been focused largely on parental rights and their input in their children’s education, with McAuliffe saying during a debate, “I don’t think parents should be telling schools what they should teach.” That comment has sparked an incredible backlash from all sides, tanking McAuliffe in polls and raising Youngkin’s popularity.

The election is on Tuesday, November 2, and it is highly unlikely McAuliffe can make up an 8-point shortfall as his lackluster campaign has largely been marked with scandal and hostility to the press asking him basic questions.

President Donald Trump is set to have a tele-rally for Youngkin and Republicans in the coming days as the race wraps up.

  1. I hope Virginia audits their 2020 elections and overhaul the democrat run election system or it won’t matter who is running against the democrat. Candidates. Warner and Natham are both installed, not elected. So are most of their statehouse senate and house. They serve who installed them.
