On Tuesday, Gov. Andrew Cuomo, exposed as a sexual predator amid sexual assault allegations, has resigned in disgrace, leaving office in two weeks, according to multiple reports.
According to the Associated Press, “The three-term governor’s decision was announced as momentum built in the Legislature to remove him by impeachment. It came after New York’s attorney general released the results of an investigation that found Cuomo sexually harassed at least 11 women.”
The report notes how “Investigators said he subjected women to unwanted kisses; groped their breasts or buttocks or otherwise touched them inappropriately; made insinuating remarks about their looks and their sex lives; and created a work environment ‘rife with fear and intimidation.'”
Lt. Gov. Kathy Hochul, a former member of Congress and close ally of Nancy Pelosi, will become the state’s 57th governor and the first woman to hold the post following Cuomo’s resignation.
Cuomo’s brother, Chris Cuomo, who is a CNN host, reportedly helped the disgraced now-former governor try to do damage control amid the scandal. As of Tuesday, he still works for the far-left television network.
Former Gov. Andrew Cuomo is also under investigation for putting virus patients in New York nursing homes, leading to the deaths of tens of thousands of elderly people.
During his resignation announcement, Cuomo repeatedly claimed the sexual assault claims were “politically motivated.”
