On Monday, Facebook’s Oversight Board announced its decision on its ban of President Donald J. Trump following its decision to suspend his accounts after ther January 6th incursion of the U.S. Capitol.
Although the ban was upheld, “it opens the door to him eventually returning to the platforms,” according to NBC News.
President Trump responded to the decision with a general statement about Big Tech censorship:
What Facebook, Twitter, and Google have done is a total disgrace and an embarrassment to our Country. Free Speech has been taken away from the President of the United States because the Radical Left Lunatics are afraid of the truth, but the truth will come out anyway, bigger and stronger than ever before. The People of our Country will not stand for it! These corrupt social media companies must pay a political price, and must never again be allowed to destroy and decimate our Electoral Process.
The decision comes one day after President Trump launched a new platform, “From the Desk of Donald J. Trump” on www.DonaldJTrump.com/desk to connect with his nearly 80 million supporters nationwide.
