Ivy League school holding segregated graduations based on race, income level, sexual identity

On Monday, it was reported that Columbia University, which is an Ivy League school that is currently ranked the third highest-ranking university in the country by U.S. News and World Report, will be holding segregated graduations for students based on race, class, and gender identity.

According to an announcement by the school, there will be different traditions for Native Americans, LGBTQIA+, Asians, first generation or low-income students, “Latinx,” and Black students.

According to Fox News, “Due to coronavirus restrictions, the ceremonies will take place online. It’s unclear when the separate ceremonies were announced, but Sunday was the deadline for nominating individuals in Columbia College, Columbia Engineering and General Studies for the ‘Multicultural Affairs Graduation Cords.’”
