On Monday, First Lady Melania Trump delivered her farewell address to the nation from the White House, telling the nation it has been “the greatest honor of my life to serve as First Lady of the United States.”
In her six-minute speech, Mrs. Trump mentioned the men and women of our country who make it great each and every day, from the “brave young soldiers who have told me with pride in their eyes how much they love serving this country,” to the frontline workers and truck drivers “who are working to save lives” during the COVID-19 pandemic.
She mentioned her “BE BEST” initiative, which hit on child well-being, online safety, and opioid abuse. “In a few short years, I have raised awareness of how to keep children safe online; we have made incredible progress on our nation’s drug epidemic and how it impacts the lives of newborns and families, and we have given a voice to our most vulnerable children in the foster care system,” said Mrs. Trump.
“Together, as one national family, we can continue to be the light of hope for future generations and carry on America’s legacy of raising our nation to greater heights through our spirit of courage, goodness and faith,” said the First Lady.
“No words can express the depth of my gratitude for the privilege of having served as your First Lady.”
