WATCH: Pro-Trump Congressman Gohmert rips Dems’ Post Office hypocrisy in fiery floor speech

On Saturday, pro-Trump Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-TX) ripped into Democrats for their sudden outrage over the Post Office when he has been on the frontlines demanding answers about the mismanaged department for years.

During his speech, he wondered why Democrats had suddenly decided to care about the department after tens of thousands of mailboxes had been removed and processing plants, one of them in his own district, was shut down by the Obama Administration.

Here’s Gohmert’s full speech:

“Look, I am pleased that Democrats here are upset about what’s happened to the Post Office. My regret is you didn’t get upset during the Obama Administration when they were shutting down our Post offices, not just getting rid of 12,000 mailboxes — shutting down processing centers. And in my district when they shut down the Overton processing center, it meant mail going from Tyler or Longview or vice versa, went to Dallas then to Shreveport and back. And the deputy attorney general came to my office. I’d been demanding a meeting with the Postmaster General — but oh no, no time for that — they had no decency. They tried to say 390 miles would be cheaper and quicker than going 30 miles. It’s an outrage what the Obama Administration did, including their postmaster general who was in office until June 15th of this year. Wake up Let’s complain about the Post Office and the Obama years.”

Gohmert, 67, tested positive for COVID-19 in late July, and with the use of hydroxychloroquine, he has fully recovered
