Trump fires Amb. Gordon Sondland hours after firing Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman

On Friday, hours after firing former National Security Ukraine expert Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman, President Trump fired Ambassador to the European Union Gordon Sondland.

Both testified as Democrat witnesses in front of the partisan House impeachment inquiry, which regarded President Trump’s phone call with Ukrainian Presiden Volodymyr Zelensky.

“I was advised today that the president intends to recall me effective immediately as United States Ambassador to the European Union,” Mr. Sondland said in a statement just hours after Colonel Vindman’s dismissal.

After Vindman was fired, his lawyer claimed, “There is no question in the mind of any American why this man’s job is over, why this country now has one less soldier serving it at the White House.”

The firings show President Trump cleaning house and taking out the Washington swamp one deflector at a time.
