POTUS, FLOTUS respond to reports of Kobe Bryant’s death: ‘that is terrible news!’

On Sunday, after news of basketball legend Kobe Bryant’s death in a helicopter accident, President Trump responded on Twitter about the news.

Trump wrote, “Reports are that basketball great Kobe Bryant and three others have been killed in a helicopter crash in California. That is terrible news!”

Bryant, 41, and all others aboard, including his 13-year-old daughter, Gianna Maria Onore perished in the crash in Calabasas, California.

“Thoughts and prayers to the family of #Kobe Bryant and those who lost loved ones in today’s tragic crash. Rest In Peace.”

President Trump later sent a more formal statement of condolences on Twitter, writing, “Kobe Bryant, despite being one of the truly great basketball players of all time, was just getting started in life. He loved his family so much, and had such strong passion for the future. The loss of his beautiful daughter, Gianna, makes this moment even more devastating. Melania and I send our warmest condolences to Vanessa and the wonderful Bryant family. May God be with you all!

Israel’s Maccabi basketball team paid respects to the tragic death of Bryant and his daughter during a basketball game.
