On Monday morning, a Florida construction worker allegedly murdered his pro-Trump boss after a political argument, then threw an American flag on the man’s dead body.
According to the report, the incident occurred at approximately 10:30 in the morning when emergency dispatchers received a call from co-workers saying Mason Trever Toney, 28, killed his boss, William Steven Knight, 28, with a trowel, then fled the scene.
When police arrived, they found Knight’s body lying by an excavator on the Florida Turnpike job site, with an American flag draped next to him.
Knight was a huge supporter of President Donald Trump while Toney was anti-government. According to the arrest affidavit, “[Toney is] “anti-government and very outspoken about his beliefs that the government is bad and out to get him.”
After Toney allegedly murdered Knight over the political disagreement, he called other workers at the site “terrorists” before fleeing the scene in a white Dodge Ram truck, authorities said. He was taken into custody shortly after crashing the vehicle in a brief pursuit in Brevard County, Florida.
