Amid a labor dispute with militant union workers at the University of California Los Angeles, the Democrat National Committee (DNC) was forced to move the venue to Loyola Marymount University. Unfortunately for the DNC is facing a similar dilemma with “UNITE HERE Local 11” protesters urging candidates to skip the debate over food service workers at the school.
Naturally, all the seven qualifying Democrat candidates couldn’t resist an opportunity to be “woke,” and so they all threatened to skip the debate “in solidarity,” refusing to “cross the picket line” if the conflict isn’t resolved.
“I take the debate stage to stand up for workers’ rights, not to undermine them,” wrote South Bend, IN Mayor Pete Buttigieg.
Billionaire Tom Steyer wrote, “I trust the DNC will find a solution ahead of the debate.”
“A job is about more than just a paycheck. It’s about dignity,” wrote former Vice President Joe Biden.
Andrew Yang wrote, “We must live our values and there is nothing more core to the Democratic Party than the fight for working people.”
Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders wrote a generic greeting, stating similar comments to other candidates
“The DNC should find a solution that lives up to our party’s commitment to fight for working people. I will not cross the union’s picket line even if it means missing the debate,” wrote Elizabeth Warren.
Finally, during an event in Miami, Minnesota Sen. Amy Klobuchar agreed with other Democrat candidates, saying she will not cross the picket line at the Debate.
So, will all this fake outrage in the name of being “woke” actually resolve the conflict, or will the debate be canceled, with all seven Democrat candidates without another opportunity to shout at each other about how much free stuff they can give away? We will see.
