According to White House Press Secretary Stephanie Grisham, outgoing Obama aides left nasty notes behind for Trump staffers during the transition between the two administrations. Some of these notes read “you will fail.” Grisham spoke about the liberal nastiness during an interview with WHKT 1650 AM in Norfolk on Tuesday morning.
Grisham said, “We came into the White House. I’ll tell you something, every office was filled with Obama books and we had notes left behind that said ‘you will fail,’ ‘you aren’t going to make it.’”
Former Obama National Security Advisor Susan Rice wrote on Twitter in response, claiming Grisham’s statement about the nasty notes “is another bald faced lie.”
But multiple staffers backed up Grisham’s claims, saying “It was a mess that first week.” Another said, “Yeah, there were mean notes left in odd places. One in a deputy press secretary’s office, one inside a desk drawer in upper press, another on a bathroom mirror. They were all about how we were doomed to failure.”
Daily Mail reporter David Martosko, who reported on the story, wrote on Twitter, “even former officials present on Day One have now told me they saw it. Of course, they weren’t ‘senior’ officials. But neither was Grisham back then. I’m sure these folks are telling the truth. But five of anything to the contrary doesn’t prove a negative.”
