Last week, NBC News published a vicious hit piece against Trump Administration official in the State Department, Mina Chang, who was accused of “embellishing” her resume, despite facts contradicting those baseless claims.
One of the things NBC falsely claimed was that she lied about attending Harvard Business School, despite her earning a certificate from the school, and being able to claim alumna status. NBC also claimed she “invented” a role on a U.N. panel, despite her working for the U.N. Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), disproving the media’s calumny.
After NBC’s vile week of bullying Chang, who has worked for charitable causes spanning over 14 years, she made the tough decision to resign from her position to end the media’s bullying.
In her resignation letter to Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, she wrote, “It is essential that my resignation be seen as a protest and not as surrender because I will not surrender my commitment to serve, my fidelity to the truth, or my love of country.” She continued, “Indeed, I intend to fight for those things as a citizen in the days and years to come.”
Chang blasted the diabolical lies from the media, writing that she was “unfairly maligned, unprotected by my superiors, and exposed to a media with an insatiable desire for gossip and scandal, genuine or otherwise.”
Chang’s exit from the State Department leaves an extraordinarily-talented young woman of color misplaced from the Administration despite doing nothing wrong, all for the sake of being a sacrificial lamb to the savage fake news media.
