Sharon Stone blames passport-less, ‘uneducated’ Americans for Trump win

Actress Sharon Stone has drawn significant attention for her remarks at the Torino Film Festival in Italy, where she blamed President-elect Donald Trump’s victory on what she described as “uneducated” Americans who lack passports and have never traveled abroad. The Basic Instinct star, who was in attendance to receive a lifetime achievement award, delivered a winding critique of Trump supporters and the current state of the U.S., peppered with metaphors and strong judgments.

Stone began her commentary by comparing the re-election of Trump to fascism, invoking Italy’s history with Benito Mussolini. “Italy has seen fascism. Italy has seen these things. You guys, you understand what happens. You have seen this before,” she said. Drawing a sharp contrast, she labeled the United States as an “adolescent” country, describing it as naive and overconfident. “Adolescence thinks it knows everything. Adolescence is naive and ignorant and arrogant, and we are in our ignorant, arrogant adolescence.”

She then turned her attention to the American electorate, attributing Trump’s victory to a lack of worldly experience among voters. “Americans who don’t travel, who 80 percent don’t have a passport, who are uneducated, are in their extraordinary naivete,” Stone asserted. Her remarks have fueled backlash, particularly from conservatives, who view such comments as dismissive and elitist.

Stone’s speech took an unusual turn when she launched into a discussion about “good men” versus “bad men,” a theme she tied to the election outcome. “Good men must help good men,” she said. “And those good men must be very aware that a lot of your friends are not good men… you must be very clear-minded and understand that your friends who are not good men are dangerous, violent men, and you have to keep them away from your daughters, wives, and your girlfriends.”

Her statements, which many interpreted as a veiled criticism of male Trump voters, culminated in a call to action: “This is a time when we can no longer look away when bad men are bad.”

This isn’t the first time Stone has shared controversial views on Trump. According to Breitbart News, she previously expressed a willingness to leave the U.S. and move to Europe if Trump were re-elected. Whether she plans to follow through on that sentiment remains unclear.

While Stone’s comments were praised by some for their candor, others criticized her for generalizing American voters and diminishing the legitimacy of their political choices. Regardless of public opinion, her remarks reflect the deep divisions and ongoing tensions surrounding the Trump presidency and its broader implications.

  1. Why do Hollyweird puppets think Americans care about what they say? Sharon remember you are ONLY a puppet who is given a script and told by someone else what to say or how to act!

  2. I lived in Europe for 2 years. I speak several languages. I have a tested iq of 130. I spent my life working construction and made a good living. I did not go to college but I am a real person not a washed up actress who spent her life play acting for a living. I voted for Trump because of his policies.

  3. Uneducated? So is she a Rhodes scholar? I don’t think so. She became a sensation because of one scene in a movie and we are to kow tow to her? She is just parroting Baldwin cause she can’t think for herself.

  4. Sharon, I have two degrees AND a passport. I voted for Trump in 2016, 2020, and 2024. You are nothing but a narcissistic bimbo. Get the hell out of this country if you dislike our politics.
