Germany

Those with German ancestry, including parents, grandparents, or great-grandparents, can claim citizenship by descent in Germany. Special considerations are extended to descendants of individuals who lost German citizenship due to Nazi persecution. For children born before July 1, 1993, to a German father and a non-German mother, citizenship can be claimed if paternity was established before age 23.
