Storm brews over Biden’s future as Dems jump ship en masse

According to multiple media reports, top Democratic leaders are intensifying efforts to persuade Joe Biden to step aside from the 2024 presidential race. This mounting pressure stems from fears that Biden’s continued candidacy could lead to significant losses for the Democratic Party in upcoming elections.

Key figures in this movement include Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY), both long-time allies of Biden. Recent media reports suggest that their alliance with the president is fracturing due to concerns over his electability and its potential impact on down-ballot races. CNN’s MJ Lee, Jamie Gangel, and Jeff Zeleny reported that Pelosi directly told Biden he cannot win reelection and is jeopardizing the party’s prospects. Politico Playbook noted Pelosi’s involvement, describing her as having “fingerprints… all over the knife.”

Further reports indicated that Schumer and House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) have also urged Biden to withdraw from the race. ABC News’ Jon Karl highlighted these discussions, adding to the growing chorus of Democratic leaders questioning Biden’s viability.

Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) has publicly called for Biden to step down, citing “serious concerns about whether the President can defeat Donald Trump” and stressing that “it’s time for him to pass the torch.” Additionally, reports from Semafor’s Liz Hoffman and Ben Smith revealed that Biden’s campaign adviser, Jeffrey Katzenberg, warned the president that donor funding is dwindling.

Former President Barack Obama has reportedly advised his allies to consider Biden’s viability carefully. Although Obama’s spokesperson declined to comment, the Washington Post noted that Obama previously stated the decision lies with Biden.

Internal party polling further exacerbates the issue, showing a significant lack of confidence in Biden’s mental fitness. The New York Times reported that polling by Blue Rose Research indicates only 18 percent of voters believe Biden is mentally fit for office, including 36 percent of those who voted for him in 2020.

An Associated Press/NORC poll found that about two-thirds of Democrats want Biden to drop out of the race. This internal dissent underscores the challenges Biden faces within his party as they prepare for the upcoming election cycle.

  1. The most glaring issue to Democrats doesn’t seem to be his mental fitness which is something we on the Right have been concerned about for many months. No, they don’t seem to mind that he is the leader of the free world and can’t complete a sentence. If they were concerned about that they would start work on the 25th Amendment to remove him now. Their ONLY concern is that he is going to lose the election and of that I am certain. For all the talk from the Left saying Trump is a threat to democracy, looks like the real threat to democracy are the leaders of the Democrat party.

  2. Like ripping the bandage off of a wound—it’s painful and ugly how the Biden admin and the media COLLUDED to hid the truth about our president, especially since the elite Democrats are only concerned with stuffing their pockets and promote their Socialist ideas. Biden boasts about “3.5 million new jobs” as he remains silent that 40% of those jobs are to illegal aliens or that the majority of jobs going to American citizens are part time positions. Biden gives these illegals benefits that none of them paid for. We house, feed, educate and give these illegals medical care. As an 85-year-old, I am forced each month with my Social Security income to choose between food on the table at 20% increases, and paying for my diabetic and prostate cancer medications as illegals benefit from programs they never contributed to… WHAT’S WRONG WITH THIS PICTURE? IT’S ILLEGAL AND CORRUPT!

  3. I find it interesting (amusing) to watch the Titanic (progressive party) sink after fatally crashing into the ice berg (Biden/Trump debate) and then watching them try to change captains (Kamala or ???) as the ship is about to go under (campaign). It would be far better for everyone to get into the lifeboats (Trump campaign) and help with the rescue project (MAGA). But that would be way toooo logical (radical) for many!!!
