Musk backs Trump with massive monthly donations after assassination attempt

Billionaire Elon Musk, fresh off his endorsement of Trump after the 45th president survived an assassination attempt on Saturday, plans to contribute around $45 million per month to a super PAC supporting Trump, according to a report.

America PAC, which was established last month to support Trump with the financial backing of some of Musk’s associates, includes notable figures such as Palantir Technologies co-founder Joe Lonsdale, Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss, and former U.S. ambassador to Canada Kelly Craft and her husband Joe, the CEO of Alliance Resource Partners. The Wall Street Journal reported this information.

The super PAC has already spent at least $6.6 million in support of Trump, who was officially nominated at the Republican National Convention on Monday as the party’s presidential candidate.

America PAC is focused on voter registration and encouraging swing state residents to vote early and request mail-in ballots. Their efforts aim to counter the Democrats’ “get out the vote” campaigns and on-the-ground initiatives in the lead-up to the November election.

Musk, currently the world’s richest person with an estimated net worth of over $250 billion, plans to make substantial monthly donations of $45 million to the super PAC leading up to the election. This pledge follows a filing showing America PAC had received $8.75 million in contributions for the three-month period ending June 30, as reported by the Wall Street Journal. Musk is expected to start his donations this month.

According to Bloomberg News, Musk made a donation to the super PAC last week, though the exact amount remains undisclosed.

Back in March, Musk had stated he did not intend to donate to either the Trump or Biden campaigns. However, following the assassination attempt on Trump at a Pennsylvania rally, Musk shifted his stance, offering his full endorsement. “I fully endorse President Trump and hope for his rapid recovery,” Musk posted on X, adding, “Last time America had a candidate this tough was Theodore Roosevelt.”

Musk and Trump have reportedly been in more frequent contact in recent months and have developed a friendly rapport. The Wall Street Journal noted that Trump was aware of a project Musk was organizing to prevent voter fraud.

Musk has also expressed a more favorable view of Trump compared to Biden on X, frequently criticizing the current president while supporting the 45th president. Additionally, Musk donated $100,000 to a GoFundMe page authorized by Trump to assist the victims of Saturday’s shooting and their families. The attack at the rally resulted in one attendee being killed while protecting his wife and daughter, and two others were injured.

  1. Everyone has a choice of who to vote for. I dislike all socialists but will defend their right to choose and vote for Democrats. I vote REPUBLICAN. America First!
