Trump speaks out after surviving assassination attempt

45th President Donald Trump recounted the harrowing experience of being shot during an assassination attempt at a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, stating he “felt the bullet ripping through [his] skin.”

In his first public statement since the incident, the 78-year-old presumptive Republican presidential nominee shared, “I was shot with a bullet that pierced the upper part of my right ear.” He added, “I knew immediately that something was wrong in that I heard a whizzing sound, shots, and immediately felt the bullet ripping through the skin. Much bleeding took place, so I realized then what was happening.”

Trump issued this statement on his Truth Social page amidst initial conflicting reports, including suggestions that he may have been struck by glass rather than a bullet.

“I want to thank The United States Secret Service, and all of Law Enforcement, for their rapid response on the shooting that just took place in Butler, Pennsylvania,” Trump wrote. “Most importantly, I want to extend my condolences to the family of the person at the rally who was killed, and also to the family of another person that was badly injured. It is incredible that such an act can take place in our country.”

Initial reports indicated Trump was hit in the ear, leading to significant bleeding. The Secret Service and other law enforcement agencies responded swiftly, and the 45th President was quickly escorted off the stage and taken to a Pittsburgh-area hospital.

“Nothing is known at this time about the shooter, who is now dead,” Trump added in his statement.

During the chaos, Trump could be seen ducking on stage as gunshots rang out and Secret Service agents rushed to his side. Defiantly, he later pumped his fist, despite blood running down his face, and reportedly shouted to his supporters, “Fight! Fight! Fight!”

Joe Biden condemned the attack, calling it “sick” in remarks on Saturday night. He mentioned that he had attempted to contact Trump at the hospital after the White House faced criticism for initially referring to the shooting as an “incident” in their press statements.

    1. lol, you are funny, thanks for that, made me laugh. I cut my finger this afternoon, I also shed blood for America. lol

  1. I believe trump hired a guy for this. Any opponent of trump would have killed the monster. With that weaponry, seriously. Who else would have been able to be that close with any gun, but a trump invited fanatic. Now the “pity me party” has begun.
