MSNBC guests freak out after court slashes Trump bond in NY case

A guest appearing on MSNBC expressed deep frustration regarding the recent decision by judges to reduce 45th President Trump’s bond payment in the New York civil fraud case. Tristian Snell, a former New York assistant attorney general, described Trump as having his “own private system of justice.”

During an episode of “José Díaz-Balart Reports” on MSNBC, Snell expressed his exasperation, indicating that the process leading to the judges’ decision seemed flawed and unjust. He emphasized the apparent privilege Trump enjoyed, stating, “This is a different process for this person. We have decided that he gets his own private court of justice.”

Snell further elaborated on Trump’s perceived privileges, citing his private plane, clubs, and the controversial events at the Capitol. He emphasized the inequity of the situation, asserting, “Now he’s getting his own private system of justice. This is an absolute travesty. It would not happen for anybody else.”

When questioned about the legality of the judge’s decision, Snell criticized it as a “gross miscarriage of justice.” He expressed disbelief at the appellate court’s intervention, suggesting it was unfair and lacked transparency.

David Henderson, a former prosecutor, joined the discussion, highlighting the differential treatment Trump received. He remarked, “The playbook is different for … President Trump,” indicating a pattern of special treatment.

The appeals court ultimately reduced Trump’s bond payment to $175 million, due within the next 10 days. This decision diverged from the previous requirement of a $454 million bond payment.

Snell reacted strongly to the ruling, expressing disappointment and asserting that the people of New York deserved better. He criticized the lack of explanation accompanying the decision, emphasizing the need for transparency and accountability in the judicial process.

Despite the controversy, Trump indicated he would comply with the appeals decision and post the reduced bond amount. This move would potentially shield his assets from seizure attempts by New York Attorney General Letitia James as he continues to appeal the judgment.
