In a shocking twist, Capitol Police drop charges in controversial sex tape case

The U.S. Capitol Police have announced their decision not to pursue charges in connection with a “sex video that was recorded inside the Hart Senate Office Building on the morning of Wednesday, December 13. While it appears to be a likely violation of Congressional policy, the agency stated that there is currently no evidence of a crime being committed,” as reported by Fox News.

The agency conducted a thorough investigation and consulted with federal and local prosecutors before making this determination. Despite the filming taking place in a hearing room not open to the public, a Congressional staffer involved had access to the room. However, neither of the two individuals involved cooperated with the investigation, and it did not meet the criteria for potential criminal charges. The Congressional staffer implicated in the incident has since resigned and invoked their Fifth Amendment right to remain silent.

The initial report of the sex tape’s existence came from The Daily Caller, which revealed that the video had been leaked and shared within a private group for gay men in politics. Subsequently, a staff member working for Senator Ben Cardin, D-Md., was terminated in connection with the video.

Senator Cardin expressed his disappointment and anger regarding the incident when speaking about the scandal, describing it as a breach of trust. However, he did not disclose the identity of the staffer involved, citing it as a “personnel issue.” Cardin further stated that he was unaware of any additional disciplinary actions taken against the former staffer and had not been in contact with them since the termination.

Room 216 in the Hart Senate Office Building, where the explicit video was recorded, holds historical significance as a prominent hearing room. Over the years, it has been the site of intense questioning of high-profile presidential nominees, including those who later became Supreme Court justices. The scandal has cast a shadow on this otherwise storied location within the Capitol.

  1. Why is this news? The entire act is gross, disgusting and a blatant disregard for this country and the taxpayer. No consequences at all.

  2. HMMMM… Who did the tapes expose? Sounds like some could have their careers ruined. I say expose all the dirty people in Congress and lets clean the place out!
