In a fiery message on Truth Social, 45th President Donald Trump’s team targeted Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, accusing him of acting like a “thirsty OnlyFans wannabe model” and engaging in a debate with California Governor Gavin Newsom out of desperation for attention. The press release, titled “Kiss of Death,” unleashed a barrage of criticism on DeSantis on the day of his scheduled debate with Newsom on Fox News.
Trump spokesperson Steven Cheung didn’t mince words, asserting, “Ron DeSanctimonious is acting more like a thirsty, third-rate OnlyFans wannabe model than an actual presidential candidate.” The statement continued by claiming DeSantis is so desperate for attention that he’s resorting to debating a “Grade A loser like Gavin Newsom.”
Cheung went on to predict DeSantis’s performance at the debate, painting a vivid picture of him flailing arms and bobbling his head, likening him to a “San Francisco crackhead” rather than the governor of Florida. The press release concluded with a pointed remark: “This isn’t a prediction. It’s a spoiler.”
The ongoing feud between Trump’s campaign and DeSantis has intensified as the Florida governor positions himself as a viable alternative to Trump. DeSantis recently criticized Trump, calling him a “high-risk proposition” as a nominee, suggesting that Trump would be a lame duck on day one if elected.
The Trump campaign responded with attack ads against DeSantis, signaling a heightened rivalry. Despite facing criticism, DeSantis secured key endorsements from Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds and influential evangelical leader Bob Vander Plaats. The endorsement, however, comes amid Trump’s lead in the polls, posing a significant challenge for DeSantis in the Iowa caucus.
David Avella, chairman of GOPAC, emphasized that DeSantis needs a compelling message to sway voters and differentiate himself from Trump, who remains a formidable force in the competition. The battle for the GOP nomination continues, with both candidates vying for support in the critical weeks leading up to the Iowa caucus.
Trump is a bully. If he has so much confidence in himself, why is he still attacking DeSantis? Why not attack Newsom and the Dems instead of his own party? He’s pathetic. I voted twice for Trump and, of course, will support him if he gets the nomination (and is not in jail). But, it’s DeSantis in the primary for me.
