On Thursday, it was revealed that 45th President Donald Trump’s lawyers had filed a notice of appeal in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit regarding the verdict found by a New York jury in E. Jean Carroll’s case claiming Trump raped and defamed her.
The Court ordered Trump to pay the woman $3 million for the defamation claims and $2 million for claims he assaulted her — although the jury did not convict the president of rape.
In a Wednesday town hall on CNN, Trump denied Carroll’s claims in their entirety.
Trump dubbed Carroll a “whack job,” calling her story “fake.”
WATCH:
Now, Carroll is claiming to want to sue Trump again for his CNN town hall comments.
The New York Times reported:
Ms. Carroll said on Thursday morning that she had been asleep as Mr. Trump talked about her on the town hall program. She said that her lawyer, Roberta A. Kaplan, had sent her the transcript of his comments, and that she had read only the first paragraph.
“It’s just stupid, it’s just disgusting, vile, foul, it wounds people,” Ms. Carroll said in an interview with The New York Times, adding that she had been “insulted by better people.”
Ms. Carroll said she had been infuriated when her longtime stylist told her that her 15-year-old son was talking about what Mr. Trump had said.
“I am upset on the behalf of young men in America,” Ms. Carroll said. “They cannot listen to this balderdash and this old-timey view of women, which is a cave-man view.”
The notice of appeal signals that Trump is set to fight Carroll’s lawsuit, and Carroll’s comments signal she is not done with her legal attacks on the 45th president.
So sad they find these people willing to defame President Trump for $$. The story makes no sense. Pray sanity rules on the appeal.
