On Thursday, Actor Jared Drake Bell, 36, from Nickelodeon’s hit TV show Drake and Josh (2004-2007), was “considered missing and endangered,” according to the Daytona Beach Police Department.
The Department wrote on Thursday morning in a Facebook post, “He should be traveling in a 2022 grey BMW and his last known location is potentially the area of Mainland High School on 4/12/2023 just before 9p.m.”
“He is considered missing and endangered. If you know where he is or have any information, please contact Detective Jayson Wallace at 386-671-5207 or wallacejayson@dbpd.us.”
The last social media post Bell made was on March 6, 2023, sharing a reel of his son, Jeremy.
According to Variety:
Back in June 2021, Drake Bell pleaded guilty to a felony charge of attempting to endanger children and a misdemeanor charge of disseminating matter harmful to juveniles. He was later sentenced to two years’ probation and 200 hours of community service
The charges stemmed from an incident that took place between a then-31-year-old Bell and a 15-year-old girl in December 2017. Police said at the time that the meeting between the two followed months of social media messages that were “at times … sexual in nature.”
In 2015, Bell was arrested for a DUI with bail set at $20,000. In that case, he pleaded no contest to a misdemeanor and spent four days in jail.
After Bell pleaded guilty, he wrote, “I felt that this was the best way to get this over quickly, and for everyone involved to be able to move on and for me to get back to doing what I love, and that is making music for you,” noting that he did not do “anything physical” and was not guilty of “disseminating any photographs.”
At 1:26 p.m. Thursday, Daytona Beach PD updated its post, writing, “At this time, we can confirm law enforcement officials are in contact and Mr. Bell is safe.”
Later, Bell joked about the mixup on Twitter:
