The SWAMP protects its own—GOP caucus votes to keep RINO Liz Cheney as conference chair

On Wednesday, amid rabid calls from the Democrats to strip Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) of her committee assignments due to her past comments critical of Nancy Pelosi and the swamp, the GOP caucus instead held a vote to remove Rep. Liz Cheney (WY) from her leadership role, headed by pro-Trump Reps. Andy Biggs (R-AZ) and Matt Rosendale (R-MT).

With the backing of the SWAMP’s most avid flip-flopper Rep. Kevin McCarthy (CA), the GOP caucus came out in numbers to support their swamp friend, Liz Cheney, with the vote total ending up a 145-61 in-favor of Cheney.

After the meeting, McCarthy told the media, “People can have differences of opinion. … Liz has a right to vote her conscience. And at the end of the day we’ll be united.”

A few RINOs self-identified in their support for Cheney, which included Reps. Ann Wagner (MO), Dan Crenshaw (TX), Chip Roy (TX) and Adam Kinzinger (IL), as well as Rep. French Hill (AR) who came to Cheney’s defense in the meeting, saying, “Liz Cheney is a person of character, a person of conviction, and she sets the standard for speaking out on things she believes in.”

Previously, Cheney blamed the January 6th U.S. Capitol incursion on President Trump, saying, “The president [Trump] formed the mob. The president incited the mob, the president addressed the mob. This is what America is not.” She then voted to impeach him.

The U.S. House is slated for Thursday to vote on a radical left-wing resolution stripping pro-Trump Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene of her committee assignments. Unlike the GOP caucus vote, this vote will be on the record of the straggling RINOs who want to gag Rep. Taylor Greene because she is fighting for the 45th President in Congress.
