President Trump and First Lady Melania test positive for COVID-19

According to a tweet from President Donald Trump, he and First Lady Melania Trump have tested positive for COVID-19.

He wrote the following:

“Tonight, @FLOTUS and I tested positive for COVID-19. We will begin our quarantine and recovery process immediately. We will get through this TOGETHER!”

The tweet came two hours after the President lent his support to White House Communications Director Hope Hicks after she tested positive for the virus.

First Lady Melania wrote on Twitter, “As too many Americans have done this year, @potus & I are quarantining at home after testing positive for COVID-19. We are feeling good & I have postponed all upcoming engagements. Please be sure you are staying safe & we will all get through this together.”

The COVID-19 positive tests also came shortly after CNN ran a nasty hit piece on the First Lady with a leaked telephone call between her and a friend, where the First Lady bashed the fake news media for not covering her appropriately.

Sen. Rand Paul, the first U.S. Senator to test positive for the virus tweeted to the President, “Get well soon and stay strong!”

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, who formerly had COVID-19, said, “My best wishes to President Trump and the First Lady. Hope they both have a speedy recovery from coronavirus.”

The New York Times reported on an outbreak at a Secret Service training facility in Maryland after the President Tested positive.

Their report reads:

The Secret Service sustained a coronavirus outbreak at its training facility in Maryland in August, weeks before President Trump was infected, evidence of growing infections at the agency responsible for protecting the president.

At least 11 employees at the center in rural Maryland tested positive for the virus even though the agency had closed it for several months this year to enforce procedures to mitigate transmission, according to officials with knowledge of the matter.
