Trump to nominate acting DHS Secretary Chad Wolf to head the department

On Tuesday, President Trump announced that acting Department of Homeland Security Secretary Chad Wolf will be nominated to the post.

“I am pleased to inform the American Public that Acting Secretary Chad Wolf will be nominated to be the Secretary of Homeland Security. Chad has done an outstanding job and we greatly appreciate his service,” wrote President Trump

Wolf has served in an acting role since November 2019, taking over from acting secretary Kevin McAleenan

According to Axios, “In response to Wolf’s nomination, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer told reporters in a call on Tuesday: ‘I think given his past action he is an awful choice.'”
