On Thursday, a newly released ABC News/Washington Post poll shows President Trump at the highest approval rating in his presidency, with 48 percent of respondents approving of his job performance.
The poll indicates that it is the first time that approval has exceeded disapproval, which is now at 46 percent.
According to the analysis of the data, PresidentTrump has “also has lower approval in states with higher per-capita infection rates. Some of this relates to the demographics of the affected states, and some [reflect] greater levels of apprehension among Trump’s critics.”
When asked about President Trump’s handling of the coronavirus pandemic, 51 percent of respondents approve of Trump’s handling of the outbreak versus 45 percent who do not.
