According to the updated text of the emergency COVID-19 bill released by the U.S. Senate Committee on Appropriations, the new text of the bill appears to include a $25 million raise for the House of Representatives.
Text of the bill on page 172 reads, $25,000,000, to remain available until September 30, 2021, except that $5,000,000 shall remain available until expended, to prevent, prepare for, and respond to coronavirus, domestically or internationally, to be allocated in accordance with a spend plan submitted to the Committee on Appropriations of the House of Representatives by the Chief Administrative Officer and approved by such Committee: Provided, That such amount is designated by the Congress as being for an emergency requirement…”
Other such “pork” stuffed in the newest form of the bill is $25 million in appropriations for the John F. Kenndy Center for the Performing Arts, outlined on page 113 of the proposal and millions to private institutions, Howard University with $13 million, Gallaudet University with $7 million.
I am disappointed in you and disgusted by the non related COVID19 left wing crap you have stuffed into this emergency funding bill. Our citizens are out of jobs while you, Pelosi and Schumer play politics and take advantage of this dire situation. You’re gone in November.
