Super Tuesday: Biden wins eight states, Sanders clinches four

On Tuesday, also known as “Super Tuesday,” Democrats faced off in multiple battleground states to clinch their party’s nomination for President.

Former Vice President Joe Biden was projected to win the state of Virginia right after the state closed the polls.

Later in the evening, far-left socialist Sen. Bernie Sanders (D-VT), was projected to win his home state of Vermont immediately after the polls closed, locking in a win for his campaign. Fellow Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA), is not expected to win her home state of Massachusetts while refusing to bow out of the race.

Later in the evening, North Carolina was called for Joe Biden, making it his second win of the night. Alabama was also called for the former vice president.

Biden also took the states of Oklahoma, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Texas, and Tennessee, while Sanders took the states of Colorado, Utah, and California.
