On Wednesday, after a bad performance on Super Tuesday, where the only delegates he won were from the U.S. territory of American Samoa, former New York City Mayor Mike Bloomberg dropped out of the race. The news comes after the multi-billionaire reportedly spent over $500 million on the failed race for the White House.
Blomberg’s campaign was full of interesting moments, from his staff tweeting Photoshopped memes of the candidate as a meatball to a video featuring a farting gingerbread man. Bloomberg gave an underwhelming performance at the latest Democrat debate, which did not help with enthusiasm in Super Tuesday states.
The former New York City Mayor ran what he called a “moderate” campaign, which now paves a way for more of the vote to shift toward other “moderate” contender, former Vice President Joe Biden.
The Washington Post reports that Bloomberg will endorse Biden for the Democrat nomination.
Donald Trump Jr. tweeted, “It was a ‘short’ campaign,” knocking the former mayor who has been branded “Mini Mike” due to his height.
