On Friday, it was reported that Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman, who testified against President Trump in the Democrats’ partisan impeachment inquiry, has been fired from his position as Ukraine expert on the National Security Council, according to Vindman’s lawyer.
The lawyer alleges President Trump’s firing of Vindman was an act of retaliation for giving testimony that was critical of Mr. Trump’s July 25 call with the Ukrainian president.
“There is no question in the mind of any American why this man’s job is over, why this country now has one less soldier serving it at the White House. LTC Vindman was asked to leave for telling the truth. His honor, his commitment to right, frightened the powerful,” said Vindman’s attorneys.
The Wall Street Journal reports President Trump said, “Well, I’m not happy with him. You think I’m supposed to be happy with him? I’m not,” He later tweeted, “They’ll make that decision. You’ll be hearing. They’ll make a decision.”
NSC spokesman John Ullyot said, “We do not comment on personnel matters.”
