On Sunday, amid criticism over the Super Bowl halftime show, which featured racy moments from Jennifer Lopez and Shakira, CNN contributor Ana Navarro freaked out, claiming people who disagreed with the performance were “against immigration and think Latinos are invaders.”
Apparently, Navarro doesn’t understand the difference between the desire for entertainment that can be enjoyed by the whole family and racism, especially since the music had nothing to do with racism.
Lopez at one point in the show sang “Born in the USA” while holding a Puerto Rican flag, a U.S. territory. It is not clear what Navarro means by her attack, but it apparently seems to reflect her bias against people who may desire more family-friendly entertainment. The criticism had nothing to do with Latinos, who do, indeed make our country great.
