During the Devos World Economic Forum, U.S. Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin spoke about the economy, but one comment has been making news, regarding 17-year-old “climate change” activist Greta Thunberg.
As reported by Bloomberg, Mnuchin was asked to comment on the debate over the economics of climate change spurred by Thunberg. He responded, “Is she the chief economist?” He then said, “After she goes and studies economics in college, she can go back and explain that to us.”
Mnuchin stood firm on the Trump Administration’s environmental policies, making it clear “The U.S. administration very clearly believes in clean air and clean water.”
The comment comes one day after President Trump took on Thunberg, telling a group of reporters, “When we’re clean and beautiful and everything is good, but you have anther continent where the fumes are rising at levels where you can’t believe—I think Greta ought to focus on those places.”
