Pro-life Christian NFL QB-turned baseball player Tim Tebow marries Leigh Nel-Peters

On Monday, Outspoken Christian former NFL quarterback-turned baseball player Tim Tebow married 2017 Miss Universe Leigh Nel-Peters in Nel-Peters’ native South Africa.

Tebow announced the celebration on Twitter, with a photograph from the occasion.

Tebow told People, “I’ve been waiting my entire life for someone special, who I can spend the rest of my life with. I was waiting for the right person to come along. And now I’m marrying Demi. I can’t wait to see what our future holds. All of my dreams have come true. It was 100 percent worth the wait.”

In 2007, Tebow won the Heisman Trophy after winning two national championships. In 2010, Tebow was selected in the NFL draft by the Denver Broncos, where he championed prayer with what is now known as “tebowing.” He now plays as a left/center fielder for the New York Mets and runs “The Tim Tebow Foundation,” a charity to champion faith. The charity also holds an annual “Night to Shine” event which celebrates people with special needs.

Tebow has been criticized in the past for his pro-life stance. In 2010, Tebow appeared in a pro-life ad for the group Focus on the Family, which he was viciously ridiculed for by pro-abortion groups.

Tebow and Nel-Peters are kept busy with their high-profile lives and even stuck to Tebow’s diet by having cheesecake at the wedding so Tebow could “stick to his diet” for baseball.
