On Sunday, Pastor Robert Jeffress of First Baptist Church in Dallas, Texas spoke another chapter of his sermon series focusing on the book of Revelation, called “Final Conquest.” In this message, among other sins, he spoke about murder—specifically that of children through abortion. He passionately defended unborn life, using scripture and biblical truth to argue his points.
TRANSCRIPT:
Notice this, verse 21, ‘And they did not repent of their murders. … We see that today, especially on this Sanctity of Life Sunday that we live in a nation—despite all the good things that are happening—we live in a nation whose population absolutely celebrates the murder of the unborn. Since Roe v. Wade in 1973 that emanated from our own city of Dallas, there have been 70 million children murdered, butchered in the womb as a result of Roe v. Wade. And every year, there are close to 1.4 million children who are murdered in the womb as well.
And we continue to celebrate that. We call it something else. We call it ‘women’s health.’ We call it ‘reproductive rights.’ But it’s nothing but murder, the murder of the unborn. When people try to use that euphemism, ‘well, we’re protecting women’s health.’ Really? If 1.4 million children are killed every year through abortion, 700,000 of those are little girls. What about their health, what about their reproductive rights? You have just slaughtered 700,000 [girls.]
You may have seen this week that Planned Parenthood—which is nothing but a slaughterhouse for the unborn—Planned Parenthood has announced that they are going to spend $52 million in the coming election to age sure a Democrat is elected president of the United States. And I talked about this Friday night on television. When the executive director was asked, ‘Why are you doing that? Why do you support a Democrat for office,’ she said this. She said, ‘Never before in history have we had Democrat candidates who have offered such bold policies on reproductive rights.’ Translate that—abortion.
Never in history have we had a whole party united behind such a barbaric policy as that of the Democrat Party right now when it comes to abortion! Every one of them on that debate stage—every one of them—believes in abortion for any reason. It doesn’t matter whether you don’t like the sex of your child, murder it. If you think it’s inconvenient to have a child, murder it. They believe in abortion—every one of them—for any reason and at any time. You can murder a child up until the moment that it is born, while that child is in the birth canal of the mother. If you want to kill it, kill it. Every one of those Democrat candidates believe[s] that. That is barbaric, it is evil, and it is anathema to the heart of almighty God!
And I’ll tell you something—God hates a lot of things. He hates injustice, he hates immorality, he hates violence. We’re wrong to just say, ‘God hates one thing.’ God hates a lot of things. But let me remind you of something. In Jeremiah 1, when God looked down at his own people Israel and he saw them sacrificing their own children on the altar of the god, Moloch, that is what incited his anger. It’s what caused God to say, ‘it never entered into my mind that you would do such a detestable thing. But because you have done this detestable thing, I will send the invaders to take you captive.’ And the reason God sent Babylon to take his own people captive was because of the murder of children.
Nothing angers God any more than the sexual exploitation of children or the murder of children. And that is why it is so important as a nation, that if we want the favor of God, we must repent of the sin of abortion.
Notable moments from Dr. Jeffress’ ferocious defense of life included him branding Planned Parenthood as “nothing but a slaughterhouse,” and blasting the Democrat Party’s love of abortion in their party platform as a core pillar of their belief system. Jeffress said, “Never in history have we had a whole party united behind such a barbaric policy as that of the Democrat Party right now when it comes to abortion!”
