Piers Morgan fights back against racism targeting white people

After a recent Twitter scuffle with people claiming he’s a “fat, white gammon,” British newsman Piers Morgan fought back on his show “Good Morning Britain” against the racist comment.

The tweet was in regard to the controversy with Meghan Merkle, the Duchess of Sussex, who the British media has been trying to paint as a race issue, due to her and Prince Harry’s choice to live in Canada and take a step down from most royal duties.

Morgan challenged the assertion that race had anything to do with the outrage by the Royal Palace about Meghan and Harry and said there are “legitimate” questions over her and Prince Harry’s conduct.

Afterward, a Twitter commenter said he is a “Fat white man [who] continually shouts over the top of woman, then wants to know why she won’t answer his question. This is pure gammon TV.”

Morgan challenged the tweet as racist on Good Morning Britain, by using his race to target him. He said, “On social media, I get called a fat white gammon all day long. That is also racist.”

Panellist Grace Blakely burst into laughter, saying: “That’s not racist, they’re just insulting you.”

Morgan shot back, “If you are called by a black person a white fat gammon that’s racist.”

The Scottish Sun wrote up a piece, seemingly looking to target Morgan for his comment calling out racism hypocrisy.

On Twitter, Morgan retweeted the article writing, “If you use someone’s skin colour to abuse them, you’re a racist.”
