On Thursday, while announcing the proposed National Environmental Policy Act regulations at the White House, President Donald Trump was asked to address an outburst by Sen. Mike Lee (R-UT), who blasted the Administration’s military briefing to Congress, claiming Secretary Pompeo and other high-ranking cabinet officials gave a “flippant attitude.”
President Trump addressed Lee’s comment by stating, “I had calls from numerous senators and many congressmen and women— saying this was ‘the greatest presentation they ever had.’”
But in regard to Sen. Lee and another dissenter, Sen Rand Paul (R-KY), Trump said, “Mike and Rand Paul disagreed because they want information that honestly, I think is very hard to get. It’s okay if the Military wants to give it, but they didn’t want to give it. And it really had to do with sources and information that we had that really should remain at a very high level. Could we individually, maybe, give one or two of them some information? Possibly, if we can do that. I get along great with Mike Lee — I’ve never seen him like that.”
Trump justified killing savage warlord Gen. Qasem Soleimani by boldly stating, “We caught a total monster, and we took him out — and that should have happened a long time ago. We did it because they were looking to blow up our embassy. We also did it for other reasons that were very obvious — somebody died — one of our military people died. People were badly wounded just a week before, and we did it. And we had a shot at him, and I took it, and that shot was pinpoint accurate, and that was the end of a monster. That was really the second attack. They started it… by killing one of our people and wounding badly other of our people. So that you call retribution.”
