In a Monday piece published by New York Magazine, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), commonly known as simply “AOC,” complained about her time in Congress, from her party not being far-left enough, to her missing “anonymity” as a no-name bartender in the Bronx before she was plucked out of a casting-call lineup to run for Congress. She also took aim at Joe Biden and the Democrat Party being too much of a “big tent.”
In the article, AOC bemoaned not being able to walk down the street without being recognized, saying, “I can’t go outside anymore. I miss being able to go out to dinner. I miss anonymity. I have to send my boyfriend out to get groceries. There has been a shift in chores.”
While bashing the Democrat Party for not being radical enough, she said that the party has its own “Tea Party” of Democrats who are too far to the right in her book. “And what people don’t realize is that there is a tea party of the left, but it’s on the right edges, the most conservative parts of the Democratic Party. So the Democratic Party has a role to play in this problem,” she said.
Regarding her party as a whole, AOC says, “Democrats can be too big of a tent.” A pretty exclusive message, especially since her party is already crumbling at the seams since she has taken office, pushing members in the Democrat Party farther-left, threatening their survival in the chamber.
When asked about a Biden presidency, AOC commented, “Oh God,” with a groan. “In any other country, Joe Biden and I would not be in the same party, but in America, we are.”
The freshman congresswoman also took offense to fellow-Democrats addressing her as “Alexandria” instead of “Congresswoman.”
According to AOC’s aides, as cited in the article, she is mulling runs for either U.S. Senate against Sens. Chuck Schumer or Kirsten Gillibrand, or a potential 2024 run for president of the United States.
