According to NBC’s Richard Engel, more airstrikes have targeted Shia terrorist leaders north of Baghdad, with reports showing at least six terrorists killed and three wounded.
The airstrikes come before a big Shiite protest scheduled for tomorrow in Baghdad.
The Jerusalem Post reports that “ the strikes targeted a convoy of Iraq’s Popular Mobilization Forces an umbrella group of Iran-backed Shia militias.”
The strike comes just one day after Iranian terrorist general Qasem Soleimani was killed via airstrike in retaliation for a U.S. Embassy attack led by the general.
“This is war,” pro-Hezbollah Lebanese daily Al-Akhbar said on Friday following Soleimani’s assassination.
UPDATE: NBC News’ report from Richard Engel that the U.S. was responsible for the airstrike contradicts other reports, that cite unnamed U.S. sources refuting that the U.S. sent the strike.
